Metallic epoxy flooring
Showrooms, basements, retail and feature spaces where the floor is meant to be looked at.
What metallic epoxy actually is.
Metallic pigment suspended in a clear epoxy and worked while wet, so the colour moves and pools like stone or water. It is a decorative system first: the depth is the point, and no two floors come out the same, which is either the attraction or the problem depending on the client.
Where we are the right call
- Showrooms, retail and reception areas where the floor is a feature
- Finished basements and living spaces
- Interior spaces with good light and a flat slab
Where we will tell you something else
- Wet areas, unless an anti-slip additive is specified
- Industrial floors — this is decorative, not a traffic system
- Anyone who needs the result to match a sample exactly
- Slabs with significant falls or dishing, where the pour will pool
What it is rated for.
| Build thickness | 20–40 mils |
|---|---|
| Surface preparation | Diamond grinding to CSP 2–3. Slab flatness matters more here than on any other system |
| Return to service | Foot traffic 24 hrs · full use 48–72 hrs |
| Appearance | Poured and worked wet. Each floor is unique and cannot be exactly reproduced from a sample |
| Slip resistance | Smooth by default; anti-slip additive available where it will be walked on wet |
| UV stability | Needs a UV-stable topcoat in daylight, or the clear will amber |
| Warranty | Written workmanship warranty, terms by system |
Four stages, and you know when you get the space back.
Site assessment
We walk the building, test the slab for moisture and dew point, review chemical exposure and agree the shutdown window. You get a written scope, not a number on a card.
On site, no obligationPreparation
Diamond grinding or shot blasting to profile, crack and joint repair, and HEPA extraction so the rest of the building stays open.
Dust contained · CSP 2–3Installation
Base coat, broadcast and topcoat, phased by bay or zone. Overnight and weekend work where production cannot stop.
Phased by zoneReturn to service
Foot traffic the following morning, vehicles and racking the day after. Cold slabs cure slower and we tell you the real number.

What people ask about this system.
Can you match the picture I have?
Is it slippery?
How much of my building has to stop?
How quickly can we use the floor again?
Do you work nights, weekends and shutdowns?
Can you install in winter?
The last coating failed. Why would this be different?
What does a site assessment involve?
Let us come and measure it.
We look at the slab, test it for moisture, and give you a real figure for your floor rather than a price per square foot over the phone. No obligation.
